Mangaluru
New arrangements for meal prasad at Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple have been made. Every day, devotees will receive different types of terana payas. This change is part of a plan to improve the meal system. More than 55 lakh devotees visit the temple each year.
Zubin Mohapatra, the current administrator of the temple, has taken special care in these changes. In the past, the same payas were served daily, except on special occasions. Now, around ten varieties of payas will be served, including Green Millet, Kadle Millet, Sabbakki, Wheat Kadi, Milk Payas, Akki Payas, Shyavige Payas, Rave Payas, and Cereals Payas.
Additionally, 16 types of vegetables will be used in the sambar, changing daily to enhance the taste and nutrition of the meal.
Many devotees who visit the temple have shared their views on the quality of the Annaprasad. Positive feedback has been received regarding the taste of the food. Suggestions were also made for adding more types of payas and vegetables.
To assist elderly devotees, a mat has been installed in the temple’s interior to make walking easier. These efforts aim to maintain the same taste and quality while offering more variety in the meal prasad.
