In a series of successful operations, the Bengaluru city police have apprehended five drug peddlers involved in the illicit trade of MDMA and heroin. These arrests and drug seizures mark a significant blow to the drug trafficking network in the region. The first arrest was made by the Govindraj Nagar Police, who confiscated a substantial 55 grams of MDMA with an estimated street value of Rs 1.5 lakh. The arrested individual, identified as Abdul Salam, is now facing legal action, with a case registered at the Govindraj Nagar Police station. In another operation led by the Kodigehalli police, four individuals, namely Mallesh, Nemichend Nemsa, Prakash, and Prema Ram, all natives of Rajasthan, were apprehended in Devanahalli. The quartet had been attempting to distribute heroin in the Bhadrappa Layout near Hebbal. The police confiscated 61 grams of heroin along with the vehicle that the accused were using for their illegal activities. Adding to the list of successful drug busts, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police seized a substantial 400 grams of MDMA, valued at a staggering Rs 20 lakh. The CCB operation led to the arrest of a Nigerian woman, 33-year-old Adevole Adettu Zara, operating under the alias Aisha within Bengaluru. She was taken into custody from her hideout near Yelahanka. Notably, Adevole Adettu Zara was revealed to be the prime suspect in seven drug-related cases registered in Mangaluru. The accused had initially entered India on a student visa and subsequently orchestrated her drug trade through a network of accomplices. These significant arrests and drug seizures underscore the proactive efforts of the Bengaluru police in combatting drug trafficking and maintaining the safety and security of the city’s residents.Top of Form
