DCC Bank Chairman and Cooperation Minister KN Rajanna said that only when the oppressed communities get political power, they will get justice.
He was speaking at the birth anniversary of former Chief Miniser Devaraj Urs.
It is a good development that the people of the backward classes are getting organised under the name of the former Chief Minister late Devaraja Urs. By including all the backward classes and giving civic honour to the award winnes, others will be encouraged to join the community organization. People of the community will accept him as a leader only when he leaves the trend and adheres to the principles he believed in. Otherwise, there is no public recognition as long as there is power. Every leader of the backward race should understand this.
Former President of District Government Employees Association GM Sannasiddaiah spoke on behalf of the awardees. District Backward Classes Union President Dhananjaya Kumar, Manjesh of Savitha Samaj, Kemparaju of Kuruba Samaj, P Murthy of Sadara Community. Mrs Jagadamba of Vishwakarma community wee awarded District Devaraj Urs Award.
