Every day thousands of people go to Sri Male Mahadeshwara Halls to have darshan of deity. About 100 residents will also go on a hike to the hills. Sri Basavanna Swamiji of Gopishettiyur Mutt inaugurated the Sadbhava Seva Samiti,
Addressing the programme, Gangadhar, Chairman of the Committee, said that the padayatra being held by a handful of people from Hanur for the last 25 years and it is a pleasure to see that it is being held by more than two thousand people for the last 4-5 years. He said that the money received without misusing it in any way will be kept in the account of the committee and if the hikers come from any part of State in the coming days, we will try to make them avail the use of our committee.
Sri Basavanna Swamiji said that for the last 20 years, they used to walk to the presence of Male Mahadeshwar from Hanur and surrounding villages to get the grace of the God. Meals, buttermilk, juice and water were arranged for the pilgrims in the middle of this route. He said good luck to the Sadbhava Seva Samiti to serve the devotees during padayatra.
Office bearers of the committee, security officers, devotees and others were present.
