Syed Hussain Shah Qadri, president of the Syed Budenshah Qadri Descendants Trust, has appealed to the government through the district administration to dismiss the administrative committee appointed by the BJP Government for the Dattatreya Baba Budan Dargah.
The previous BJP government had constituted a managing committee for dattapeeth despite several oppositions. The committee was to be formed with two women from the two communities. However, the previous government had formed an eight-member committee comprising seven members from the same community and Basha, a BJP worker. By any standards, this committee is not in order. He had obtained permission from the court to appoint priests for two days to perform puja outside on the occasion of Datta Jayanti. However, the priests continue to worship even today despite no permission from the court. He appealed to the government that this would be a violation of the court order.
No ritual is performed on the occasion of Urs. Sajjad Nasheen and Shakhadri are not allowed to follow the rituals. This committee is on behalf of one community. Therefore, the Kodhale Committee should be dismissed and an orderly and transparent committee should be constituted,” he said.
Also, this committee should be dismissed immediately and a committee consisting of equal members of the two communities should be formed. Or a committee of shakhadris should be formed under the leadership of Nasheen, who was as well-equipped as decades ago. Legal action should be taken against the officials and the management committee for not celebrating the Urs properly. All rituals should be followed in the dargah as per tradition.
