MLA Mane warns officials over inaccurate lake reports

CH NEWS, HANAGAL

MLA Srinivas Mane criticised Minor Irrigation Department officials at the quarterly progress review meeting on Tuesday after reports claimed that lake improvement works at Sagarvalli and Chikkerihosalli were incomplete despite being marked as completed.

He questioned officials over the accuracy of their reports and demanded clear information.

Assistant Engineer M.A.A. Badigera faced questions about several works but could not provide proper answers. Mane told him not to attend meetings without knowing the status of projects. He warned that senior officials would be sent for inspection if accurate details were not provided. He also asked officials to work carefully and responsibly.

Mane said the Varada river flow would gradually reduce in the coming days. He instructed KNNL Assistant Engineer Rakesh to closely monitor the Balambida Lift Irrigation Project and ensure that water was released properly to lakes and irrigation banks. He warned that even though the present flow was low, further reduction could create difficulties.

The MLA also said school rooms and toilet buildings could be constructed under the new employment guarantee scheme. He directed TAP Executive Officer Jagadish Kammara and BEO R.V. Chinnikatty to identify places where such facilities were needed and take immediate action. Mane urged officials to respond patiently when people visit offices and complete their work quickly.

He said Hanagal had achieved notable results in several areas, including copyright and SIR, with officials playing an important role. He said new and innovative initiatives were being started in the taluk and could become examples for the state. He urged officials to cooperate fully so that public services improved further.
