Radha Devi Saraogi, mother of Bihar BJP President Sanjay Saraogi, passed away on Friday at the age of 72 after a brief illness. She had been undergoing treatment at P. D. Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai, where she breathed her last.

Known for her deep religious faith and active involvement in social work, Radha Devi Saraogi was regarded as a compassionate and simple woman who touched many lives through her quiet service and dedication. Her demise has cast a pall of grief over her family, relatives, well-wishers, and members of the political fraternity across Bihar.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary expressed profound sorrow over her passing. Both leaders personally spoke to the bereaved family over the phone and conveyed their heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.

In his condolence message, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar described Radha Devi Saraogi as a kind-hearted and simple woman with a strong inclination towards social service. He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and for strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also shared his grief, stating that he was deeply saddened to learn about the demise of the revered mother of the BJP state president. He prayed for the departed soul to attain a place at God’s feet and for the bereaved family to find the strength to endure the immense sorrow.

Sanjay Saraogi, who was elected as an MLA from Darbhanga City in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, was recently appointed as the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by the party’s top leadership. He is considered an influential leader in the Mithilanchal region and enjoys a strong grassroots presence in the state.

Meanwhile, family members are bringing the mortal remains of Radha Devi Saraogi back to Bihar from Mumbai. Her last rites are scheduled to be performed later on Friday in accordance with family traditions.
