French President Emmanuel Macron will visit India from February 17 to 19 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the visit, he will participate in the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South.

The summit will focus on policy, research, industry, and public engagement, bringing together global leaders, innovators, and experts to discuss AI for governance, innovation, and sustainable development.

As part of his trip, President Macron and PM Modi will hold talks to strengthen the India-France Strategic Partnership under the Horizon 2047 Roadmap. They will jointly inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation 2026 in Mumbai, an initiative promoting innovation, research, technology, and people-to-people exchanges throughout the year.

The summit, held from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam, will include the India AI Impact Expo covering 70,000 square metres with over 300 exhibitors from 30 countries. The event will explore AI’s practical applications, highlighting transitions from research to large-scale deployment. Anchored on the themes of People, Planet, and Progress, the Summit reflects India’s development-focused AI approach aligned with the IndiaAI Mission and Digital India Initiative.

This visit follows PM Modi’s February 2025 trip to France and demonstrates the deep trust and strategic alignment between the two countries. Leaders will also discuss regional and global issues, including Indo-Pacific cooperation, underscoring their shared commitment to technology, innovation, and sustainable development.
