New Delhi
A committee led by PWD Minister Parvesh Verma met on Friday to discuss the need to revise Delhi’s liquor excise tax and maximum retail prices (MRP), which have stayed the same for years. Officials said Delhi loses revenue to nearby cities like Noida and Gurugram, where liquor is cheaper. The new excise policy aims to boost revenue and improve the liquor trade. Inputs from industry stakeholders have been gathered, and the draft policy will be shared for public feedback before final approval.
