Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Sets $6 Trillion Goal

Quoting the CAG, Yogi noted the state’s revenue surplus rose from ₹37,000 crore to ₹70,000 crore, enabling smooth projects

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday declared that the state will aim to become a $6 trillion economy by 2047. He was speaking at the “Viksit Uttar Pradesh Vision @ 2047” conclave in Lucknow, where he outlined the state’s long-term development plans.

Calling Uttar Pradesh’s progress “unbelievable for those who lack courage,” Yogi said peace and security in recent years have created the base for rapid growth. “A developed Uttar Pradesh is not just our resolution; it must be our daily routine,” he told the audience.

The Chief Minister credited the transformation of the state to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, people’s trust, and a strict policy against nepotism, caste politics, and corruption. He argued that Uttar Pradesh was never inherently a “BIMARU state,” but was pushed into decline by earlier politics and poor governance.

Quoting the CAG report, he highlighted that the state’s revenue surplus rose from ₹37,000 crore in 2023 to ₹70,000 crore. “A state with such a large population is executing projects without obstacles,” he said.

Yogi also pointed out India’s agricultural strength, noting that 60 percent of its land is cultivable, far higher than countries like the U.S., Russia, or China. He reminded the audience that India was once a global economic leader before colonial exploitation, which drained wealth worth $32 trillion.

“Foreign slavery plundered us, but today India is rising again. Uttar Pradesh will play a leading role in this journey,” he said. On the occasion, he released the book 8 Years of UP Government and extended Navratri greetings.
