A basic training camp for new Home Guards is being held at Sree Saint Sewalal birthplace Mahamath Bhayaghad Suragondanakoppa in Nyamati Taluk of the district, from August 1 to 10. Youth Hostel Association of India, Tarunodaya, the unit, from Shimoga, cycled and visited the Home Guard Basic Training Camp.
Speaking on the cocasion Deputy Commissioner of Shivamogga District Home Guards Halappa Shah said, in order to stay healthy, they should not use so many vehicles, walk and use bicycles, maintain their health, so that we can reduce the use of vehicles, waste fuel, reduce air pollution and noise pollution, he said. There were people of all castes, religions and professions in the Home Guard, even in case of natural calamities and emergencies, you are always ready like warriors for selfless service to protect the property of the public without any reward.
