Griha Jyoti Will Help Poor And Middle Class More, Minister Dr MC Sudhakar

District in-charge and Higher Education Minister Dr. MC Sudhakar said that Griha Jyoti scheme will help the poor and middle class people a lot.

Speaking at the launch of the Griha Jyoti scheme, he said that the   scheme is the first of the 5 guarantees. This scheme  provides free electricity for household upto a maximum of 200 units.  2.51 crore people have got benefit under Griha Jyoti Yojana in the district.    

Deputy Commissioner PN Ravindra said that, as per the wish of the government, the Griha Jyoti Yojana is being run in the district under the leadership of the district in-charge Minister.   There are 3.28 lakh customers in the district,   2.10 lakh have been registered since June 18, out of which zero bill has been distributed to 76,434 customers.  

Gouribidanur MLA KH Puttaswamy Gowda spoke about the government’s innovative schemes which are going to be pro-people schemes as they help the people below the poverty line and the middle class. It will be available to all and he requested everyone to utilise it properly.

MLA Pradeep Eshwar said that the government’s guarantee schemes look like gods to the people who struggle for one meal every day, and requested that the deserving people should take advantage of the benefits of such schemes.

In the program zero bills were distributed to the beneficiaries under Griha Jyoti Yojana and posters containing information about this scheme were released. 

Zilla Panchayat CEO Prakash GT Nittali, SP DL Nagesh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. N Thippeswamy,  Assistant Commissioner DH Ashwin, Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary Dr. N Bhaskar, President of District Government Employees Association G Harish, Executive Engineers of BESCOM Anand Kumar, BN Shubha, officials of various departments, staff and beneficiaries of Griha Jyoti Yojana participated.
