As part of its campaign for the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Sunday distributed “Congress Debt Cards” to remind citizens of what it called unfulfilled promises by the ruling party. BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) led the campaign, visiting Shaikpet and Samatha Colony with MLC Dasoju Sravan and minority leaders.
KTR accused the Congress government of misleading voters with “false promises” and urged people to teach them a lesson in the by-poll. Residents voiced grievances including poor sanitation, garbage accumulation, sewage stagnation, frequent power cuts, and general neglect. KTR assured that these issues would be raised with the government for solutions. Locals expressed faith in KCR’s leadership and predicted BRS would win the election.
Speaking to media, KTR criticised Congress for failing promises made during the 2023 elections. He highlighted schemes not delivered: Rs 2,500 monthly for daughters, Rs 4,000 pension for the elderly, and promised scooters for students. He said citizens are owed lakhs of rupees and accused Congress of “looting the state.” The “Debt Card” initiative aims to remind voters of these failures.
KTR urged support for BRS candidate Sunitha, whose husband’s passing triggered the by-election. He cited Mahabubnagar and Ellareddy MLAs to highlight poor governance and ridiculed CM Revanth Reddy’s “Future City” plan, calling it a real estate project ignoring current civic issues like floods and mosquito problems.
