Minister for Large and Medium Industries M B Patil on Monday hit out at BJP leaders, saying not Rs  5,000 crore but even 5 paise compensation has been given to the flood victims under the Upper Krishna project.

Reacting to former Minister Murugesh Nirani’s allegation that the Congress had done injustice to the people of the Krishna river in the budget, he said, we have allocated Rs 5,000 crore. Only two of them have been given cheques symbolically. But the money has not reached them either. They came to my constituency to do politics and held programmes. However, they have not given even a single rupee. He retorted that he had just done an eyewash.

Reacting to former minister CC Patil’s allegation that he had cut funds for Lingayat mutts, Minister MB Patil said that funds have not been given to Lingayat mutts. However, we have not given much money for spending more than the budget.  Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has highlighted their corruption in the budget. Replying to a media query, he said a probe has been initiated into the irregularities of the BJP government.

Those who killed Jain muni of Hirekodi should be punished severely. The government and the Home Minister will take action in this direction.   Mla Abhay Patil’s allegation that there was pressure on the police by the government should not be compared to anything like this.  MLA Laxman Savadi also visited the spot and demanded severe punishment. Abhay Patil should not mix politics in it. Such incidents have happened when there were different governments. These are heinous acts. MB Patil said such accused should not be forgiven.
