The state assembly elections will be held on May 10 and counting of votes will be held on May 13. BBMP is making all kinds of preparations to increase the turnout this time. Chief Commissioner of Bhruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palika (BBMP) and District Election Officer Tushar Girinath said that every effort is being made to increase the voter turnout from 55 percent to at least 75 percent this time. Speaking at the voter awareness campaign organized by Bangalore Chamber of Industries and Commerce (BCIC) in the city, he said that the voter turnout should be 100 percent. In this regard, all efforts are being made to increase the voter turnout, for this reason, all the constituencies are being visited separately and talking to the voters, he said. This time there are 1.35 lakh voters in the age group of 18-19 years who will vote for the first time. It has been informed that a total of five lakh voters have been enrolled since January 2023. Officials are busy developing queue app and parking app for voters to get real-time information. An SMS will be sent to all eligible voters a day before the election, requesting them to vote. He said the voter slip with voter details, serial numbers and polling station details will be sent 10 days before the election.
