The accused who pelted stones on a train passing between Malur and Thakal of Bangalore Railway Division said that God had instructed him to pelt stones on the Vande Bharat train. On April 16, stones were pelted on trains passing between Malur and Thakal of Bangalore Railway division. The arrested person was interrogated by the police and at this time the accused was instructed by God to pelt stones. He claimed that this will get me food. I and my team used to patrol the railway tracks in civilian clothes. At this time the person was arrested. He was collecting jelly stones on the tracks. Patna Humsafar Express (Train No. 22354) was supposed to pass on the tracks. RPF Passenger Services Inspector SK Thapa said that the accused was arrested by them. The arrested person is in a depressed state. There were plenty of food items in the bag he kept. He used to sit and eat at railway stations and sleep there. God commanded him to throw stones at trains. He said that he believed that he would get food from this. There was no damage inside the train due to stone pelting. Railway sources informed that no one was injured or harmed. In the wake of increasing incidents of stone pelting in Bangalore, we have now reduced train traffic from 3 shifts to 2. Also, around 100 people are on duty for 12 hours in each shift to guard the tracks. RPF Divisional Security Commissioner Devanshu Shukla said that this will help arrest the accused.
