Must read

Karnataka assembly elections are nearing and voting is about 20 days away. Against this background, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is doing various exercises to increase the voting percentage in the state capital and other cities of Karnataka. The Election Commission of India has reached out to voters and youth who are eligible to vote for the first time. ECI and its affiliates are trying to increase the voter turnout of Sandalwood artists, actors, musicians and techies. By this the Election Commission has given a colorful touch to their efforts. From technology to art and entertainment, we are exploring all possible avenues to connect with first-time voters and the modern youth who are an important part of the electorate, said Surya Sen, Special Officer, IT, Media and SVEEP, State Election Commission Division.  It also provided a perfect platform for the tech-driven youth to propose their ideas and solutions to solve some of the problems that have come in the Election Commission’s way of achieving maximum and hassle-free voter registration. Against this backdrop Electhon-23 was a 2-day long offline hackathon.  Accordingly, by shifting to a new building, the CEO’s office has taken on a completely new look. The building is uniquely painted on the walls and corridors by artists from the transgender community, or mangalmukhis.  The artists of Aravani Art Project, comprising members of the transgender community, painted the building based on the themes of inclusive democracy, vibrant youth population, election festival and constitutional rights.
