The Municipal Corporation’s Chitaguppi hospital has performed a major operation for the first time using laparoscopic procedures. Doctors removed a 1.5 kg tumor from a woman’s uterus.
The hospital is facilitated with advanced treatment facilities including a Laparoscopic unit and has performed 20 operations. It performs 1,800 minor and 300 major operations annually. No death of mother and child during delivery has been recorded.
Chitaguppi Hospital is an old facility, recognised and known for its patient care. With a vision to offer the highest quality in patient care and equipped with technologically advanced healthcare facilities, it offers various kinds of treatments in a similar manner to the private hospital model.
A patient told that, I had a tumour. We approached many hospitals in the city but did not get effective treatment. Chitguppi hospital was recommended to me by a friend. Finally, the doctors performed a major surgery and removed a 1.5 kg tumour from my uterus. I am thankful to the staff and Dr Shridhar Dandappanavar.
A resident of Hubli, Bonappa Angadi said that the entire hospital environment had changed. The hospital has shown concern for the safety of patients and treatment in a hygienic environment inside and outside the hospital. Due to the hygienic atmosphere created by the hospital, the number of patients is increasing. Hundreds of patients are getting high-quality treatment in the HDMC-run hospital, he added.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Shridhar Dandappanavar said the hospital had been upgraded with updated infrastructure under the Smart City project. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated it. Major operations have been performed here. Recently we started a laparoscopic unit and 20 major operations have been performed. The diabetic unit and pink room for women’s patients have also been opened.
Every day, around 200 patients visit and get quality treatment, he said.
