Belagavi
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Rajkumar Topannavar lashed out at the BJP, saying the party had no respect for Lingayat workers or leaders in Belagavi, which forced him to quit recently. He claimed that several active workers from the community have been treated unfairly in the allocation of tickets for local elections and the holding of top positions. Speaking to mediapersons in Belagavi on Monday March 21, he criticised the BJP for neglecting good Lingayat leaders like former corporator Deepak Jamkhandi, who was denied a city corporation election ticket, and Ghulappa Hosamani, who was sacked as Chairman of the Belagavi Urban Development Authority (BUDA).
