It is well known that Kamal Haasan’s dream project is Marudhanayagam, which was launched in 1997, but was put in cold storage several years ago owing to financial crises. Earlier, a poster of Marudhanayagam displayed with Sundar C’s Sangamithra at the Cannes 2017, had fueled speculations that superstar Kamal Haasan has revived his dream project. Later in 2020, The Ulaganayagan had earlier said the the film might come with someone else acting in it, since he is actively into politics and wants to serve people.
