Vijayendra calls for unity, says K’taka must help build Viksit Bharat

Mangaluru

Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra urged party workers to set aside internal differences and work together to secure victory in the Puttur Assembly constituency, which he said would strengthen the BJP’s prospects of winning 150 seats in the state. He was speaking at the inauguration of the Atal Virasat programme in Puttur, organised to mark the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Vijayendra said thousands of dedicated karyakartas had built the party through years of hard work and emphasised the need for unity at a crucial time. He accused the Congress government of misleading voters to come to power and said its governance had disappointed people across Karnataka, with farmers, the poor and Hindu activists suffering the most. He also criticised the government for failing to deliver development despite repeatedly alleging discrimination by the Centre.

Highlighting Vajpayee’s vision, Vijayendra said the former prime minister laid the groundwork for a strong India, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi revived national confidence after 2014 and set the country firmly on the path toward becoming a developed nation by 2047. Karnataka, he said, must play a pivotal role in this journey, which is why a stable BJP government is essential.

Calling Atal Virasat an emotional tribute, he said Vajpayee’s dignified leadership and inspiring speeches still motivate lakhs of party workers. He appreciated the steadfast support the BJP continues to receive from the coastal region.

Senior leaders including former CM Sadananda Gowda and MP Capt Brijesh Chowta also spoke, recalling Vajpayee’s principles and urging workers to reclaim the Puttur seat. Longtime party supporters and associates of Vajpayee were felicitated.
