Shruti Haasan has officially joined the sets of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s much-anticipated film ‘Coolie’, starring superstar Rajinikanth. A picture of the actress getting into makeup for her role was shared online on Monday, exciting fans.
Recently, a character introduction poster unveiled Shruti as ‘Preethi’, her role in the film. This project is significant as it marks her first collaboration with both Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj, though she worked with the director earlier this year on the single ‘Inimel’, which she composed.
The movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Nagarjuna Akkineni, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, and Sathyaraj. While details about Shruti’s character remain under wraps, the poster hints at an action-packed element to her role. Her last appearance was in the 2023 blockbuster ‘Salaar: Part 1—Ceasefire’.
‘Coolie’, which began filming in July, features music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, editing by Philomin Raj, and action choreography by Anbariv. The dialogues are co-written by Lokesh and Chandhru Anbazhagan, who also contributed to the screenplay. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, the film is set to release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. While the official release date hasn’t been announced yet, anticipation is building for this high-profile collaboration.
