Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut has revealed the release date for her highly anticipated film ‘Emergency’. The film, in which Kangana portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, is set to release in cinemas on ‘‘January 17, 2025’’.

The announcement comes a month after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted the film its censor certificate. Taking to Instagram, Kangana shared a striking poster of the film, captioned, “17th January 2025 – The epic saga of the nation’s most powerful woman and the moment that altered India’s destiny. #Emergency – Unveils Only in cinemas on 17.01.2025!”

Earlier, in October, she had informed fans on X about the censor clearance, thanking them for their support and patience as the release date was finalized.

The biographical political thriller, produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, offers a gripping portrayal of Indira Gandhi and the 21-month emergency period she declared from 1975 to 1977. The film promises to delve into one of India’s most turbulent political chapters, showcasing pivotal moments that shaped the nation’s history.

Fans of Kangana and political drama enthusiasts eagerly await ‘Emergency’, which is set to bring this significant era to life on the big screen.
