District Legal Services Authority member secretary and senior civil judge Mahantesh S Daragad urged residents to utilise the upcoming National Lok Adalat on Dec 14 to resolve their legal matters.
During a press briefing held at the District Legal Services Authority office, he explained that the National Lok Adalat resolves disputes through mediation. He highlighted that civil cases are exempt from court fees, and pre-litigation matters can be resolved without court appearances. The adalat addresses various issues, including domestic disputes, civil litigation, property conflicts, and banking-related matters.
According to Justice Dargad, the National Lok Adalat has 34,420 pending cases, with 1,489 new cases referred for resolution. The press conference was attended by judges Malakari Ramappa Wodeyar, Bhagyalakshmi, and Aditya Kumar.
