With Maharashtra Assembly elections set for November 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday accused the Congress of attempting to divide marginalized communities, while asserting that the BJP promotes unity and inclusive development. Speaking to BJP booth-level workers via the Namo App before embarking on a three-nation tour, Modi highlighted the contrast between the BJP-Mahayuti and Congress-MVA approaches.
He claimed that the NDA and Mahayuti governments aim to empower all sections of society, offering opportunities for everyone to progress. In contrast, the Congress and its allies, he alleged, seek to weaken Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) to maintain political dominance. Modi argued that Congress thrived when marginalized communities were unaware of their collective strength, but their unity has eroded the party’s influence, leading it to resort to divisive tactics.
Modi praised the Mahayuti government for its developmental vision, stating, People can feel the difference in governance. Referring to his campaign rallies, he noted strong public support for the Mahayuti’s leadership, with voters eager for the alliance to continue driving Maharashtra’s progress.
Addressing party workers, Modi emphasized their pivotal role as his representatives, ensuring that the concerns of the people reach him directly. You are the bridge between the people and me, he said, urging them to connect with voters and convey the government’s achievements effectively.
