The Shiv Sena has urged the Maharashtra Chief Election Officer and Mumbai Police Commissioner to take action against AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi for allegedly delivering inflammatory speeches in Solapur that incite violence and disturb communal harmony.
In letters submitted by the Shiv Sena’s social media in-charge, Rahool Kanal, the party accused the Owaisi brothers of making statements that hurt the religious sentiments of various communities, promote enmity, and threaten public peace. Kanal cited violations under Section 196 and Section 61 of the Bombay Police Act, 1951, as well as relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000, concerning the dissemination of inflammatory content.
Kanal claimed the speeches are criminal in nature, aiming to disrupt societal harmony and endangering public safety. He emphasized that such actions pose a grave threat to communal peace, demanding the registration of an FIR and a comprehensive investigation, including verification of the video’s authenticity and how it was spread.
The Shiv Sena has also called for strict legal measures against the Owaisi brothers to ensure accountability and prevent any recurrence of similar conduct, underscoring the need to protect public order and uphold communal harmony in the state.
