Playing in Rohtak on Friday, Kamboj delivered a stunning performance, finishing with figures of 10/49 in Kerala’s first innings. The 23-year-old’s achievement places him alongside Bengal’s Premangshu Chatterjee (10/20 in 1956) and Rajasthan’s Pradeep Sunderam (10/78 in 1985) as the only bowlers to claim all ten wickets in a Ranji Trophy innings.

Kamboj’s efforts not only shattered Kerala’s batting lineup but also set a new record for Haryana, surpassing Joginder Sharma’s 8/24 against Vidarbha in the 2004/05 season. His spell began with eight wickets over the first two days of play, and on the third day, he dismissed Basil Thampi and Shoun Roger to complete the remarkable haul, wrapping up Kerala’s innings at 291.

Overall, Kamboj is just the sixth Indian to take ten wickets in a first-class innings. He joins a distinguished group that includes legends like Anil Kumble, who achieved the feat in a 1999 Test match against Pakistan.

This milestone caps an incredible year for Kamboj, who has been in brilliant form. Earlier this season, he recorded figures of 8/69 during the Duleep Trophy and played a key role in Haryana’s Vijay Hazare Trophy triumph.

With his latest achievement, Kamboj has firmly established himself as one of the rising stars of Indian cricket. Fans are now eagerly watching his journey as he continues to make waves in domestic and international cricket.
