World No. 1 Jannik Sinner continued his strong showing at the ATP Finals, defeating Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4 on Tuesday night to secure a 2-0 record in the Ilie Nastase Group. This win puts Sinner in a favorable position to advance to the semi-finals, as he seeks his first ATP Finals title to cap off an impressive season. Sinner’s steady performance in the one-hour, 40-minute match improved his head-to-head record against Fritz to 3-1.

The Italian star, who has won seven titles this year, is aiming to make his 2024 season even more memorable, having already claimed major victories at the Australian Open and the US Open. Up next, Sinner will face fourth seed Daniil Medvedev today, hoping to extend his perfect group-stage record.

In the doubles tournament, former champions Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic pulled off a thrilling comeback to defeat second seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos. After losing the first set 4-6, Koolhof and Mektic saved a match point and took the second set in a tiebreak before clinching victory in a tense 10-8 match tie-break. This win brings the Dutch-Croatian pair to 1-1 in the Mike Bryan Group.

With this result, Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten became the first doubles team to secure a semi-final spot after a solid 7-6(3), 7-5 victory over Australians Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson, improving to a 2-0 record in their ATP Finals debut.
