New Delhi
Former cricketer and current MP Kirti Azad has announced his intention to run for the top position in the upcoming Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) elections. Azad will submit his nomination on November 19, with elections scheduled from December 13 to 15, and results expected on December 16.
Initially planning to file his nomination on November 14, Azad postponed due to urgent constituency matters. He intends to outline his platform after reviewing other candidates’ promises, stating, “They made many promises last time, so I’ll see what they say now.”
Azad’s agenda includes enhancing facilities for DDCA club members, supporting local cricket activities, and addressing corruption. Emphasizing the importance of nurturing local talent, he highlighted the need to create opportunities for Delhi’s young players, similar to those available during his playing days.
