In a political clash, two Congress Chief Ministers and a Deputy CM defended their party’s promises and achievements in their states against what they called the false propaganda of Maharashtra’s ruling BJP and MahaYuti. Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhwinder Sukhu, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, and Karnataka Dy CM D.K. Shivakumar, joined by AICC Media Chairman Pawan Khera, hit back at BJP and Prime Minister Modi for spreading lies.
Their statements followed BJP Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis’s attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, which caused a stir. The Congress leaders highlighted the successful implementation of their party’s guarantees, sharing data to prove their impact. Shivakumar outlined Karnataka’s schemes, like Rs 2,000/month for 1.22 crore women and free electricity for millions. Sukhu spoke about Himachal’s Old Pension Scheme and farmer-friendly initiatives, while Reddy discussed Telangana’s loan waivers for farmers and free travel for women.
The Congress leaders criticized Modi for supporting corporate loan write-offs while objecting to public welfare schemes. They also challenged the BJP to visit their states to see the guarantees’ impact firsthand. With elections in Maharashtra looming, they urged voters to support the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, promising better governance. Khera also filed a complaint with the Election Commission regarding BJP’s media campaign against Congress.
