MA Nishad’s latest film, Oru Anveshanathinte Thudakkam, is an investigative thriller set to release today. Inspired by the diary entries of his father, PM Kunjumoideen Kutty, a retired DIG, the movie offers a realistic portrayal of police investigations, blending fact with fiction. Nishad, who grew up in a police environment, worked closely with law enforcement officers to ensure authenticity in the investigative scenes.
The film follows a case under the Kottayam Crime Branch, showcasing how the branch operates. The story takes viewers across various locations, including Dubai, Punjab, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, adding a travel element to the narrative. Shine Tom Chacko plays the role of an absconding journalist, Jeevan Thomas, delivering a standout performance.
The cast also includes Vani Viswanath, Swasika, Anumol, Sshivada, and others. Nishad made sure each character, no matter how small, had a name and backstory, making the writing process a significant task. The film features three suspenseful songs, composed by M Jayachandran, along with a gripping background score by Manoj Sharma and sound design by Binoy Benny.
