At a recent promotional event for his upcoming film Kanguva, actor Suriya shared his admiration for director SS Rajamouli, praising the filmmaker’s inspiring energy during the making of Baahubali. Suriya spoke with the stars of Baahubali—Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, and Anushka Shetty—about what kept them motivated during the intense 150-plus day shoot. To his surprise, all three actors credited Rajamouli’s positivity and boundless energy as the driving force behind their endurance. They noted that Rajamouli’s unwavering enthusiasm kept the entire team focused and energized, even during the toughest days of filming.
Reflecting on his own experience, Suriya mentioned that he found similar dedication in Kanguva director Siruthai Siva. He expressed how Siva’s passion for the film reminded him of Rajamouli’s approach to his work, creating an environment where every day felt inspiring.
Interestingly, Suriya revealed that he was once offered a role in Baahubali but turned it down due to dissatisfaction with the character’s scope. Since then, he has expressed regret over that decision and hopes for a future collaboration with Rajamouli.
Kanguva, Suriya’s most expensive film to date, is set to release on November 14, 2024, and features Bollywood stars Disha Patani and Bobby Deol in their Kollywood debuts.
