A woman was kidnapped from Kodumunja village in Telangana’s Rajanna Sircilla district after her son, Pallapu Srinivas, failed to return to work at sugarcane farms in Maharashtra. Police said the incident occurred on Wednesday but became known the following day.

Srinivas had taken Rs 3 lakh from a Maharashtra farmer, Lalu Diwakar, to work on his farm. After working for three months, Srinivas returned home but did not go back to the farm. On Wednesday, a group of people arrived in the village, searching for him. When they couldn’t find Srinivas, they demanded repayment from his family. After his wife refused to go with them, they abducted his mother, dragging her into a car. A video showed two women in the group, while Srinivas’ children were seen crying. The kidnappers used a local car to flee, likely avoiding detection by using a Telangana-registered vehicle. The police have opened an investigation based on a complaint from Srinivas’ son.
