BJP spokesperson R.P. Singh criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday for blaming the BJP for an alleged attack on former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during his ‘padyatra’ in Vikaspuri. Singh urged AAP leaders to acknowledge that Delhi residents are fed up with their representatives. He highlighted incidents where AAP MLAs faced backlash from constituents, mentioning that MLA M. Goyal was chased away by women due to unaddressed issues.

The AAP had claimed that BJP goons attacked Kejriwal during his public march. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Marlena accused the BJP of using dirty politics to undermine Kejriwal, alleging previous attempts to harm him while he was in jail. AAP Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj added that Kejriwal receives strong public support, suggesting that the BJP is threatened by his popularity.

In response, Delhi BJP leaders dismissed AAP’s accusations as unfounded and stemming from frustration. They asserted that there was no attack, but rather public discontent directed at Kejriwal and his MLAs over issues like water quality. Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva questioned why Kejriwal was upset when confronted by locals, suggesting that he has lost touch with the realities faced by residents. He criticized Kejriwal’s governance, claiming that people are demanding accountability for issues like roads and electricity.
