New Delhi
P. Krishnamurthy, the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi, has launched an awareness campaign about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) for the upcoming Delhi Assembly Election in 2025. This initiative began on October 15, 2024, and aims to educate voters on how to use these voting tools effectively.
The campaign is taking place across all 11 districts of Delhi, providing citizens with hands-on experience with the voting process and the machines. To support this, 22 Demonstration Centers have been established—two in each district—where the public can learn about casting their votes. Additionally, 70 Mobile Vans are deployed to reach every assembly constituency, ensuring awareness at polling locations.
Krishnamurthy encourages the public to visit places with high foot traffic, such as malls and metro stations, to learn more about the voting process, emphasizing that this knowledge will save time on election day.
