Nurlan Zhalgasbayev, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to India, shared the country’s aspirations to become a significant global player as it prepares for Republic Day celebrations on October 25. In an interview with source, he emphasized the historical importance of this date, marking the 1990 adoption of the Declaration on State Sovereignty, which established Kazakhstan’s commitment to its people’s cultural identity and aspirations.
The ambassador highlighted key milestones in Kazakhstan’s development, including the adoption of a constitutional law in 1991 and the establishment of a comprehensive constitution in 1995. He stated that Republic Day symbolizes the nation’s dedication to democracy, peace, and stability, emphasizing values like freedom and equality.
Kazakhstan has emerged as the largest economy in Central Asia, significantly improving living standards and enhancing health and education. Recent years have seen important political reforms, increasing democratic participation. The ambassador also discussed President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s reform agenda, focusing on digitalization, infrastructure, and environmental initiatives, including a national reforestation effort.
Kazakhstan has attracted over $441 billion in foreign investment and launched the KAZAKH INVEST initiative to support investors. The Astana International Financial Centre serves as a unique hub for global business. With ambitions to attract $150 billion in investment over the next seven years, Kazakhstan is actively promoting itself as a bold and innovative destination for trade and investment through its Born Bold campaign. This initiative showcases the country’s strengths in sectors like energy, logistics, and tourism.
