Ahead of Diwali, police in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, seized a significant amount of illegal firecrackers during two raids, officials reported on Tuesday. The first operation took place in Makanpur village, where the Indirapuram police raided a shop near a Hanuman temple. They found 63 cartons and one plastic bag filled with firecrackers. A 26-year-old man named Majid, who allegedly sold the firecrackers, was arrested, and a case has been filed against him.

In the second incident, authorities targeted a kite shop in the Delhi Gate area after receiving complaints about illegal firecracker sales. They discovered a large stock of firecrackers at the Navyug Market shop, but the shopkeeper escaped before the police arrived. Assistant Commissioner of Police Ritesh Tripathi stated that a team has been formed to locate and apprehend the fleeing shopkeeper.
