Indian rallyist Pragathi Gowda secured 16th place on Monday overall at the Rallye Du Centre Alsace, her fourth international event, competing against 67 other drivers. Held on Sunday, the two-day asphalt rally covered a distance of 306.11 km, where Pragathi achieved an impressive average speed of 108.5 km/h.
After completing the first leg in 36th position, Pragathi made a strong comeback in the second leg, showing steady improvement and gaining confidence. By hitting small goals set by her team, she navigated the challenging conditions to rise to 16th place.
‘This was just my fourth international rally, and with each event, I’ve made huge improvements, which is very encouraging,’ Pragathi said. ‘This rally was the toughest so far in terms of driving conditions and grip levels. I am happy we could adapt quickly, and the car’s responsiveness built my confidence and consistency.’
The event saw strong competition from race leaders Rossel Yohan and Fernandes Steve, who drove Rally 2 cars, the Citroën C3 and Hyundai i20 N, respectively.
Pragathi, sponsored by Sidvin and MRF, is set to compete in the Rally de España on October 18-19 as preparation for the World Motorsport Games, which will take place from October 23-28, where she will represent India in the Rally Category.
