Hyderabad FC midfielder Cy Goddard urged his teammates to work hard and learn from their mistakes during the international break, aiming for stronger performances in the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) matches. The 27-year-old, who has made a name for himself in the league, played a key role in Mumbai City FC’s double victory during the 2020-21 season and contributed two assists for Odisha FC last year.
Goddard joined Hyderabad FC as their first foreign signing for the 2024-25 season and is enjoying his time with his new club. Everyone has treated me well. This is my third season in India, and I’m starting to enjoy it, he said.
After a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Chennaiyin FC, where Hyderabad played with 10 men, Goddard praised his teammates for their resilience and teamwork. It was a tough, physical game, but we showed great team spirit and earned a point, he noted.
Looking ahead, Goddard emphasized the importance of using the break to improve both physically and mentally before their upcoming fixtures against Jamshedpur FC and Mohammedan SC. This break will help us reset and come back stronger, he concluded, confident that their performances will only get better as the season progresses.
