The Patna Pirates are eager to regain the Pro Kabaddi League title after exiting in the semi-finals last season. The team, a three-time champion, dominated the league from Seasons 3 to 5 and aims to reclaim the trophy this year.
Head coach Narender Redhu is focused on leading the Pirates to a strong season and securing a playoff spot. The team was active during the Season 11 Player Auction, acquiring over a dozen new players to strengthen the squad. Significant purchases included defender Shubham Shinde for ₹70 lakh and all-rounder Gurdeep for ₹59 lakh.
The Pirates’ roster depth is seen as a major asset this season. Sudhakar M is expected to lead the raiding unit after impressing in his debut season with 103 raid points. Other promising players include Sandeep Kumar, Meetu Sharma, and Jang Lee.
Challenges are anticipated due to the absence of key players from last season, such as lead raider Sachin and best defender Krishan. The lack of quality replacements in attack and defense may affect performance.
Younger players may step up, with Sudhakar M and Sandeep Kumar emerging as potential lead raiders. Shubham Shinde is expected to take on a leadership role in defense. The Pirates will need Jang Lee and Meetu Sharma to perform well to increase their chances this season.
