Universal Pictures acquires rights to Colleen Hoover’s Reminders of Him

Must read

Following the success of ‘It Ends With Us’, Universal Pictures has secured the rights to Colleen Hoover’s 2022 novel ‘Reminders of Him’. The film is slated for release on February 13, 2026, though no director or cast has been confirmed yet.

‘Reminders of Him’ tells the story of Kenna Rowan, a woman trying to rebuild her life after serving a five-year prison sentence. She hopes to reunite with her four-year-old daughter, but faces unexpected challenges that make it difficult to restore her past life. The novel has sold over 5 million copies in the U.S. and another 6.5 million globally.

Hoover, who co-wrote the screenplay with Lauren Levine, expressed her excitement for the adaptation. This story holds a special place in my heart, and I believe Universal is the perfect partner to bring it to life, she said. The film will also mark the launch of Hoover’s production company, Heartbones Entertainment, which she co-founded with Levine.

While ‘It Ends With Us’ performed well at the box office, it sparked controversy over its portrayal of abuse and rumors of tension between lead actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, who also directed the film. Despite the backlash, Hoover’s fan base remains strong as anticipation builds for her next adaptation.
