The Indian junior shooting team continued to display its remarkable talent by winning their 11th gold medal at the ongoing International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior World Championship. The team of Mukesh Nelavalli, Raajwardan Patil, and Harsimar Singh Rattha triumphed in the junior men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol (RFP) event. This victory marked Mukesh’s fourth gold in the competition, which includes one individual title.
India currently leads the medal tally with a total of 16 medals, comprising one silver and four bronze. China follows in second place with three golds and one silver.
In addition to their team success, Mukesh and Raajwardan reached the individual final in the RFP event. However, Raajwardan finished fourth with 17 hits in the first six series, while Mukesh exited earlier in fifth place, securing 10 hits out of 25 targets.
In the junior men’s 50m rifle prone event, Parikshit Singh Brar emerged as the top Indian competitor, scoring 623.0 points across 60 shots. Shivendra Bahadur Singh placed 14th with a score of 618.4, while Vedant Nitin Waghmare came in 24th with 613.2 points.
