During a public rally on Wednesday, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the BJP and Prime Minister Modi, claiming they have neglected the needs of soldiers and farmers in their focus on the RSS agenda. With the Haryana elections approaching, Kharge emphasized the historical commitment of Congress leaders to national welfare. He stated, Our Prime Ministers have always worked for the country. Shastriji’s mantra of ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ reflects Congress values. The BJP fails to understand farmers and only serves the interests of Ambani and Adani. They don’t empathize with farmers’ struggles and continue to instill fear among them.

Kharge also targeted the former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, noting that his replacement by Nayab Singh Saini was necessary because the double-engine government did not deliver on its promises. The people remember the development under the Hooda government. Unlike them, we fulfill our commitments, he asserted.

He further criticized the BJP’s integrity, labeling it as the head of liars and calling Modi an expert in lying. In response to Modi’s remarks on a caste census, Kharge defended the Congress’s position, asserting that they remain patriotic despite calls for welfare measures.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri countered Kharge’s claims, suggesting he should rest due to his low-level political discourse. He expressed confidence that Modi’s leadership is supported by the people and predicted favorable outcomes for the BJP in upcoming elections.

Haryana will hold elections on October 5, with results announced on October 8.
