In the ongoing youth Test match in Chennai between India U19 and Australia U19, Vaibhav Suryavanshi made headlines by scoring the fastest century for India in U19 Tests on Tuesday. The talented 13-year-old reached his hundred in just 58 balls, finishing with a total of 104 runs, which included 14 fours and four sixes.

Suryavanshi had already set a strong foundation on Day 1, ending with an impressive 81 not out off 47 balls. India began Day 2 with a solid position at 103 without losing a wicket, and Suryavanshi quickly added to his score, achieving his maiden century at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. His remarkable feat is now the second-fastest in U19 Test history, just behind England’s Moeen Ali, who scored a century off 56 balls in 2005.

Before this match, Suryavanshi gained attention as the youngest debutant in Ranji Trophy history at just 12 years old, surpassing legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh. In this Test, India restricted Australia to 293 in their first innings, thanks to strong performances from bowlers Mohammed Enaan, Samarth Nagaraj, Aditya Rawat, Aditya Singh, and Soham Patwardhan. Prior to this, India U19 completed a 3-0 whitewash in a three-match ODI series against Australia.
