Spinner Adam Zampa made history by surpassing former fast bowler Nathan Bracken to become Australia’s eighth-highest wicket-taker in One Day Internationals (ODIs) on Saturday. Zampa achieved this milestone during the fourth ODI against England at Lord’s.

In a match where Australian bowling struggled, Zampa was a bright spot, taking two wickets for 66 runs in eight overs. He dismissed key players Ben Duckett and Harry Brook, who both scored half-centuries. Since his debut in 2016, Zampa has played 102 ODIs, claiming 175 wickets at an average of 27.99, with his best figures being 5/35.

Bracken, who played for Australia from 2001 to 2009, previously held the record with 174 wickets in 116 ODIs and a top performance of 5/47. The all-time leading wicket-takers for Australia remain pace legends Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee, each with 380 wickets.

In this match, Australia won the toss and opted to field first. England posted a solid total of 312/5 in 39 overs, with Liam Livingstone scoring a quick 62 runs. In reply, Australia struggled significantly, collapsing to 126 all out in just 24.4 overs, allowing England to level the five-match series at 2-2. Harry Brook was named ‘Player of the Match.’
