Asian Games medallist Vishnu Vardhan, top seed Prajwal Dev, and defending champion Rashmikaa S Bhamidipaty will lead the 29th Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship, held from September 28 to October 12 at the DLTA Complex, New Delhi.
As India’s largest domestic tennis event, organized under the All India Tennis Association and Delhi Lawn Tennis Association, the championship will showcase top talents from across the country, competing for prestigious titles. Past participants include renowned Indian players like Rohan Bopanna, Somdev Devvarman, Yuki Bhambri, Sania Mirza, and Rutuja Bhosale.
This year, Prajwal Dev leads the men’s singles, while Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty defends her title in the women’s singles. The tournament also features names like Vishnu Vardhan and Riya Bhatia.
Ajay S Shriram, Chairman of DCM Shriram Ltd, highlighted the importance of the tournament in fostering Indian tennis talent, offering opportunities for players to advance their careers. He also announced a tennis scholarship of Rs 25,000 for the winners and runners-up in the U16 and U14 singles categories, sponsored by DCM Shriram Foundation.
The tournament’s first week includes the men’s, women’s, and U-18 events, with U-16 and U-14 categories running from October 6 to 12. The total prize pool is over Rs 21.55 lakh.
