Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar announced that on September 22, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his cabinet will dedicate a garden at the Tungabhadra reservoir. This reservoir, vital for farmers in Koppala, Raichur, Bellary, and nearby districts in Andhra Pradesh, recently faced a crisis when its 19th crust gate was damaged, raising concerns about water wastage.
Thanks to the prompt action of the government, local representatives, engineers, and a dedicated team led by expert Kanhaiya Naidu, the gate was repaired in just five days, effectively controlling the water leakage. As a result, the reservoir has been refilled.
On the day of the dedication, around 108 individuals, including officers, engineers, and workers who contributed to the repair efforts, will be honored for their hard work.
