Hubli
The revised draft of the master plan for Hubli-Dharwad is expected to be submitted to the State Government for final approval within the next 15 to 20 days. The Hubli-Dharwad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) is taking steps to update the existing plan due to the rise of illegal layouts in the twin cities.
Many roads and drainage systems have been encroached upon by residents, prompting HUDA to focus on implementing the revised master plan. This plan aims to ensure that residents have access to proper roads, drinking water connections, and underground drainage systems.
The area under HUDA has increased from 24,000 hectares to 28,000 hectares since Hubli-Dharwad was selected for the Central Government’s Amrut Yojana. The available land will be used effectively to develop the city, providing basic facilities and residential areas for those in need.
A new master plan was previously approved in 2019 to accommodate population growth until 2031. However, updates are now necessary to reflect the changing needs of the community and to utilize additional land for residential, industrial, and commercial development.
