On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that the government’s first 100 days in office have showcased its commitment and efficiency. Speaking at the fourth Global Renewable Energy Investors’ Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST), he emphasized that India’s efforts reflect a significant pace and scale of development.
Modi noted that the government has been actively working on expanding infrastructure, including the construction of seven crore new homes—more than the population of many countries—and the distribution of four crore homes in previous terms. Key decisions include the creation of 12 new industrial cities, approval for eight high-speed road projects, and the launch of over 15 semi-high-speed Vande Bharat trains. The government has also initiated a research fund worth Rs 1 trillion and introduced policies to boost e-mobility and biomanufacturing.
The Prime Minister also highlighted advancements in green energy, including a Rs 7,000 crore funding scheme for offshore wind projects and plans to develop 31,000 megawatts of hydropower with an investment of Rs 12,000 crore. India aims to achieve 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030 and has already met its Paris Agreement climate commitments nine years ahead of schedule.
Modi reiterated that India is committed to building a sustainable and self-reliant future, with a focus on renewable energy sources to ensure the nation’s growth and development.
