BJP spokesperson Bansuri Swaraj criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) following the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. She accused the party of celebrating corruption and misleading the public with its distorted narrative. During a press conference, Swaraj pointed out that while the Supreme Court granted bail to Kejriwal due to a prolonged trial, it does not clear him of serious charges related to the liquor policy scam.
Swaraj emphasized that this is not the first time Kejriwal’s arrest has been upheld by the courts. She noted that previous judgments have also affirmed the legality of his detention in other cases, showing that the legal actions against him are based on substantial evidence, not baseless claims.
She highlighted that Kejriwal’s bail conditions prevent him from visiting his office or signing official documents. This, she argued, implies that he is unfit to continue as Chief Minister. Swaraj also criticized the INDIA bloc for attempting to shield Kejriwal and stressed that for the BJP, combating corruption is an ideological commitment, not just a political stance.
